MOONS is a multi-object spectrograph that will be installed at the Nasmyth focus of VLT ESO Telescopes in Chile. The instrument has capacity to deploy approximately 1000 fibers over field view 500 square arcminutes, with total wavelength coverage from 0.6 1.8 μ $$ \mu m, offering both low- and medium-resolution modes. high demand for fast large optics all spectral channels prompted use similar f / 0 . 95 f/0.95 Schmidt cameras. As result, Detector Unit (DU) must located within optical beam its footprint minimized reduce vignetting. consists four H4RG-15um pixel detectors two fully depleted LBNL CCDs. This article provides comprehensive description detector systems, focusing particularly on H4RG-15, including brief overview newly developed cryogenic pre-amplifier 64-output operation, detailed discussion woven cable technology used signal routing.
